We're hiring for a Sales Engineer to join our Commercial Sales Team. This role will help drive a tremendous amount of growth in our market-share attainment in the mid-market segment of our business and help evangelize our platform.
 
Our sales engineers wear many hats, including: sales opportunity manager, product demo master, pre-sales consultant, and communication conduit between engineering, sales reps, and customers/prospects. We work hard, but we have a lot of fun in the process. We're looking to hire a motivated, collaborative, and ambitious Sales Engineer to drive opportunities and customer engagements. Turbonomic offers customers a way to arrive at software defined control through our patented Economic Scheduling Engine which allows them to assure Application and VM Quality of Service while driving their environments to the most efficient state.
 
Responsibilities
- Conduct product demonstrations online (WebEx, GTM) and in-person
- Identify customer pain points associated with virtual and cloud environments
- Convey and document technical requirements to prove business value across organizations within associated sales region
- Address any and all pre-sales technical questions related to the full POC cycle
- Provide technical assistance within proofs of concept and assist other regions if needed
- Provide input and feedback to engineering teams and development
- Lead technical presentations and assist account executives/sales directors with ROI presentations
 
Qualifications
- Some experience (1-5 years) in datacenter infrastructure, virtualization, cloud computing, or related field in an sales engineering or consulting capacity
- Experience with sales prospects in person and delivering complex content
- Highly motivated, competitive, and passionate team player who is driven to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast paced, and high activity environment
- Strong affinity for customer relationship management and requirements gathering
- Understanding of the virtualization management competitive landscape, and technical features of competing products within the ecosystem preferred
- Astute in presenting to and conversing with customers; ability to deliver technical information in a clear and concise manner
- Understanding of datacenter interdependencies around the virtualization layer, including: storage, security, network infrastructure, applications, etc.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field. CS, Economics, or Engineering is a plus
- Candidates who live and work in the Greater Boston Area will be considered
