JOB OVERVIEW
Hydrow is seeking a Quality Engineer who is passionate about continuous improvement and delivering best in class customer experiences, as customers are the key to everything we do!
In this role you will be a critical piece of the hardware performance feedback process. Expect to become the primary owner of all Hydrow performance and defect data which you will use to generate metrics and identify trends. The data will prioritize your initiatives, you will use your exceptional engineering and interpersonal skills to facilitate and contribute to engineering investigations and product improvements. Alongside your hardware team counterparts, you will plan and execute validation and durability testing.
This role includes up to 20% domestic and international travel, as travel restrictions allow.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Collecting and analyzing field performance data to generate metrics and identify trends in hardware performance.
- Facilitating 8D and SCAR processes with a cross functional team, including contract manufacturers.
- Executing level one failure analysis and facilitating level two failure analysis with the engineering teams.
- Working closely with Hydrows Member Services and Field Service teams to track and resolve issues with Hydrow's in the field.
- Supporting ongoing durability and reliability testing efforts, including running of the testing rigs.
- Assisting in building out Hydrows quality systems and processes.
- Collaborating with engineering teams to validate engineering changes and identify risks.
- Supporting NPI activities including facilitating risk assessments and FMEA sessions.
- Defining testing plans for system level and component level testing.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related field.
- 2-5 Years quality engineering experience with hardware products in fitness, consumer, automotive or medical device spaces.
- Strong analytical skills, including statistical techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize APQP methodology and core tools.
- Technical aptitude and proven ability to troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems.
- Self-starter who is comfortable working autonomously in a fast paced startup environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to jump in and help out where needed, even in areas that are outside of your job description.
- Six Sigma or similar accreditations a plus.
- Prior experience as a design engineer a plus.
