The Enterprise Lean Agile Coach (Portfolio and Solution Level SAFe) is an expert in lean-agile methodologies, a thought leader responsible for leading and executing training and coaching efforts for CVS Health Enterprise Digitals agile transformation. This role has direct impact on department results, influencing Digitals senior and mid-level leaders, in addition to other agile coaches and practitioners, in advanced agile practices at scale (following the Scaled Agile Framework SAFe) and agile tooling strategies.
Lead and/or facilitate training sessions and workshops (virtually and in-person) for colleagues at all levels of the organization, aimed at rolling out and sustaining department-wide adoption of Lean-Agile methodologies, with particular focus on the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and XP. Training will include introductory, advanced, and role-specific training to further the organizations agile practice. Willingness to travel 3-4 weeks of each quarter. Able to train using SAFes prescribed material as well as put together own material to support specific training/overview requests (using tools like PowerPoint and Miro).
Mentor and coach to mature basic and advanced agile practices, working to empower Digital leaders in key Agile roles at all layers of the organization, with specific focus at senior & mid-level leaders (i.e., Solution & Portfolio leaders as well as RTEs). Can proactively identifies the most valuable mentoring & coaching opportunities. Leads teams to to diagnose and resolve complex business challenges. Advanced topics would include agile finance practices, lean portfolio management, solution SAFe, and strategy identification.
Define, create, and support implementation of, in partnership with Agile Transformation Office leadership and solution leaders: agile maturity assessments, agile improvement backlogs at the train and solution levels, Experience-focused execution, advanced trainer plans.
Facilitate and kickoff improvement focused COPs across various specialties (Product, Design, RTE, Quality) as an active member of the Digital LACE (Lean Agile Center of Excellence)
Active continuous learning to stay abreast of new industry trends. Maintain current SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification and enablements in current courseware for minimally 80% of SAFe certifications and workshops available. Use continuous learning to enable the execution of cross solution activities, create frameworks and lead change plans to meet the needs to the larger Digital organization.
Define and socialize strategy in agile work management tooling, including delivering training and coaching Digital colleagues to use tool (Rally). Support tool administration and usage.
Lead Epic Definition and Refinement sessions alongside cross functional leaders, aligning strategy towards execution of PIs
Experience as a Product Manager or as an RTE
Experience in Design Thinking methods and practices
Percent of Travel Required
20 - 35% once travel, planning and workshops open back up to being in person

Facilitating small- and large-group sessions, (examples include: Communities of Practice (COP), Inspect and Adapt workshops, and Value Stream Identification workshops)
Coaching and mentoring colleagues at all levels of the organization, including executives
Crucial conversation techniques and change management frameworks
The interpersonal skills and self-awareness both lead large-group sessions and have impactful 1-1 interactions to inspire meaningful change
Being a release train engineer or program manager
Communicate difficult concepts and influences others to adopt a different point of view
Facilitate large- and small-group sessions, including
Train on SAFe outputs such as Epic creation, Feature creation, and Portfolio Canvases
Deliver compelling training, both in person and virtually through videoconferencing
Adapt communication style to fit audience
Share real-life experiences from other companies to how to put the agile theories & SAFe framework into practice
Coach other trainers and coaches to help them improve their craft
Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
