The Sr. Manager of Monetization will be responsible for on-site monetization strategies for CVSs Retailer Media Platform, CVS Media Exchange (CMX), allowing for the execution of customer first campaigns from vendor partners. CMX is a highly visible and anticipated initiative for CVS with aggressive growth goals over the next 3-5 years. CVS is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong digital, technology, and customer eRetail path-to-purchase experience to help drive this growth engine.
The Sr. Manager of Monetization will work alongside counterparts within CMX Strategy and Media as well as CVS FS and Rx Marketing, Merchandising, Digital, IT and will report directly in to the Director of Marketing Technology and Operations for CMX. This person will be responsible for implementing best practices and standard operating procedures for on-site ad product workflows. They will use their background in eRetail, shopper marketing, and/or CPG, to consult with CMX supplier partners, technology vendors, and internal CVS stakeholders to develop a full media journey both on-site media and in coordination with off-site media. This person will own communication, training, and sell-in strategies resulting in the continued development of on-site monetization to meet aggressive CMX goals. Developing training and sales materials for internal and external constituencies, as needed.
The Sr. Manager of Monetization should have a strong intellectual curiosity and rigorous analytical experience to continually identify, build business cases, and formally recommend strategies, innovations, and opportunities for onsite monetization in the CVS retail space. Consult and work with cross-functional leaders for seamless execution and management to omni-channel campaign goals. They will own technology partner relationships, evolution & expansion and CMXs position within the landscape. Therefore, a proven track record of the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external business partners in delivering ROI positive results is expected.
5+ years of marketing experience with a strong foundation of business, retailer, and consumer understanding.
3+ years cross-functional leadership experience.
2+ years of retail marketing or retail agency/strategy experience.
2+ years of digital marketing experience including examples of testing and validating emerging opportunities
1+ years of brand or category management experience a plus
Experience in the digital media buying and planning space with several years of experience in the shopper marketing, eRetail, or Retail Media Network space
Hand-on keyboard latform experience with GAM/DFP, Criteo a plus
Expertise with publisher-side tools such as Google Ad Manager (GAM) and Google AdSense
Experience with Criteo, PromoteIQ, CitrusAd, or Instacart
Understanding of the supplier and vendor relationship for a Retail Media Network
Understanding of digital media channels - programmatic, paid social, paid search
Understanding of the digital media landscape with a focus on shopper marketing, eRetail, or retail media networks
Ability to define KPIs, interpret data and insights, and turn these into actionable recommendations
Self-motivated, high capacity individual who can function and win in a demanding, performance-driven environment.
Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred. Ideally, an MBA.
