Can you share the details on what Hometap does?
At Hometap, we believe you can have a house and a life. Hometap aims to make homeownership more accessible and less stressful by helping you tap into the accrued value of your home by investing in its future value. You receive cash up front so that you can do the big-ticket stuff you want to do: Start a business, pay off loans, or buy a second home without taking out additional debt. Get out from under crippling monthly payments. And when it comes to college tuition, you can help your child secure their future without sacrificing your own.

What are your marquee cultural events?
Every year, we participate in an incredibly meaningful event with a local organization called ‘Heading Home.’ Heading Home works to eliminate homelessness in the Boston area. Our team prepares - cleans, decorates, furnishes - for a family moving into a permanent home. The team is invited to stay and meet the family at the end of the day. From a big picture point of view, what experience or traits do you typically look for when interviewing and hiring new employees into Hometap?
We are looking for good owners: hungry, ambitious, smart folks who value getting things done.
We are looking for people at the top of the craft who will continue to bring excellence to our teams.
What’s the best way to get a job at Hometap?
Apply! We look at every application. Our sales, marketing and engineering teams will grow in the next couple of quarters. If you don’t see an open role that you are currently qualified for, reach out to our Head of HR to start a conversation.
What can someone expect during the interview process?
It’s a fairly standard interview process. You’ll speak to a recruiter and hiring manager by phone. If all goes well, we’ll invite you to the office to meet with a broader cross-section of the team.
What can people expect over the course of their career at Hometap?
As at any startup, there’s quite a bit of opportunity to write your own story. It’s early days and we have a tremendous opportunity in front of us. We have big, ambitious plans for 2020. Right now, we are relentlessly focused on scaling for next year’s explosive growth. You can expect to make an impact with your work and watch your hard work pay off with loads of growth.

What types of activities are employees involved in at or outside the office?
This group is quite active! There are a lot of extracurricular sports leagues - hockey, curling, basketball, golf, sailing, biking. We also enjoy reading and listening to podcasts. Many of us have relatively small children so we are frequently parenting on top of it all

Between our 23 employees, we have 20 children, which makes for lots of conversation around nannies, pacifiers, and some adorable photo-sharing.
