About Givzey and what they do
So sure most people get calls from their from the university asking for donation University calls up and you're moved at the time that yes, I'll make a gift ill give $1,000 a year for the next five years. How does the university actually capture and document that intent? The for most organizations, now, it's a bit of a clunky fillable PDF slash DocuSign, multi step process. So that can take two to 10 days to actually get it all done with a donor. Not a great experience for the donor, not a great experience for the fundraiser. And so what Givzey you does is allow, simplify that process and allow the fundraiser and the donor to complete it collaboratively during the conversation in which the donor said yes, I will give it and it takes a while can be processed up to a week, get it done in minutes.
How their sales team is organized
Yes, we have two main groups, our business development reps and our AES, the business development reps are pretty much what you would expect from those positions with their outbound hunting positions reaching out to engage the market in those three primary verticals of higher ed healthcare and general nonprofits. AES are working the sales motion through to closing deals. And we believe in in a lot of maintaining things in house. So we're hiring VDRs with the idea that they should be training and moving along the process to becoming fil A's.
What their typical sales process looks like
The so the overall sales motion I would use is relatively simple. There's an initial qualification call that's usually executed by the BDR. And then the handoff to an AE, who will do an initial demo to to develop a champion internal champion, usually followed by second demo within a larger leadership group through to negotiation and close one. Typical sales time, thus far has been three months, but we are a start up and emerging software. And what we're seeing is that sales time has been shortening as we move as it becomes more mainstream and word of mouth within the community, because our verticals are relatively closed communities that do a lot of communication. In house communication, what we're finding is sales times are closing. So I would expect that while three months is average, now it looks like we'll get down to six weeks to six to eight weeks.
What to expect during the interview process
Yeah, so we'll do a number of interviews, we're looking both for skill set and cultural fit the that people, you know, the startup, all three is certainly unique. You're not walking into Microsoft, where maybe things are all defined out and knife manuals and you follow you will tick the box and follow it along. This is a startup where everybody's contribution is important. everybody's opinion is important. Were to some degree building the plane as it flies. And so this is super active. What we want to know in first interview is, is if the if a candidate's expectation for the position, meeting, what it is that we're providing, and the environment that we have. And then so there'll be two to three interviews with various members of our team. And then a decision making and we're looking to hire right away this is we're accelerating fast. We're looking to build the team as quickly as we can.
The culture at Givzey
Because a culture of learner, the entire team. We have a history together, we've worked together for a long time and in prior companies. And the thing that we value the greatest is the ability to learn active learners, who are able to take new information, process it, use it, come up with their own suggestions, their own ideas, people who are able to provide insight, whether it turns out to be right or wrong, they're unafraid to provide an opinion and to change direction quickly that is the nature of startups. And it's certainly ours. So that that that characteristic of being an active learner, rather than somebody passively, you know, willing to do whatever is asked but only doing whatever is asked we're looking for people who who are a bit more self starting and want to try new things and and experiment.
Why now is the ideal time to join
So great and great time to join with Givzey. Not only is it is it entirely Greenfield, this is a unique solution with no competitors. You're also joining a team that has worked together and done this before we have climbed the Mount Everest of successful startups in the past. And so you have these people, a group that is experienced, that knows how to guide through the hurdles that come up in a startup and successfully manage the way through them. And so, joining a team like that, new ideas, new thoughts, those are always welcome. We want to hear them. We know that's part of being successful as a startup. But you're also joining a team that has done it before and can avoid some of the pitfalls that typically bedevil startup environments.
