ZoomInfo empowers business to business sales, marketing and recruiting professionals to hit their number. So lots of integrations here, we're going to be able to drive really predictable and accelerated growth for all of our customers.
Kate's professional background
So I went to college at University of Houston, where I was studying marketing. And I also got a minor in accounting, but looks like I was actually really interested in joining their sales program. So University of Houston has a really unique program called a Steven Stagner sales excellence Institute, where we actually teach sales to the students and I was a part of that program, which ultimately led me to work for Salesforce for a few months. And then that's how I landed at ZoomInfo was actually through the program through University of Houston.
A day in the life of a Commercial Account Executive
So everyday does look a bit different for me, we have what's called a router where we get inbound leads put on our calendar as account executives. So about half of my day is spent in demo meetings with inbound leads. And then the other half of my day is spent actually hunting. So I do also find my own book of business and look to both myself meetings as well. So combination of both of those. And then of course, I'm nurturing my current pipeline and things that have not closed yet as well.
The culture at ZoomInfo
So when I first joined ZoomInfo, as an SDR, I actually told my SDR manager that my goal was to become an account executive. And I wanted to be in a closing role. So from the beginning of my career in ZoomInfo, my leaders have been very supportive of moving me into a closing role. And that's how I was able to get that promotion into account executive and then move into the the account executive world. But I assume info the culture is great. We personally are in an office hybrid situation right now. I personally work in Texas, but I actually had the opportunity of going to our office in Boston, just a few weeks ago, your office is absolutely wonderful, it's on the water, got some great food, they're a great snack. Everybody in the office, it's super electric. If you've ever worked on a sales floor, you know how electric it feels in an office and I would highly, highly encourage you to be in the office if you're gonna work on with ZoomInfo.
Kate's potential career path
So I started at ZoomInfo as an SDR and then I was promoted to a commercial account executive about nine months ago. The next move for me would be to be promoted to a corporate account executive, and then on to a strategic account executive. So they base what meetings we get based on size of the company revenue of the company. So a promotion as an account executive would be moving up in tears of the leading routing that you get from from the company. Another option would be to go into management. But personally I would I see myself continuing on the individual contributor level.
How to land a job in sales at ZoomInfo
If you're looking to get into sales, I would encourage you to find a network. Reach out to people who are in the positions that you'd like to be in network with them, get some advice.
